Ike Tingey Ike Tingey is a senior point guard wearing jersey #1 who’s been playing basketball since 3rd grade. He earned district honorable mention as a sophomore—a proud moment that showed his effort was noticed. Inspired by Steph Curry’s off-ball movement and Markquise Nowell’s creativity, Ike’s focus is on getting better every game. Off the court, he’s into golf, video games, and time with his nieces and nephews. He’s also played baseball, volleyball, and four years of golf at Westwood—just like his six older siblings.	1	Ike Tingey (PG)	Sr
Bassett Ward Bassett Ward is a junior guard wearing #2 who’s been playing basketball his whole life, including three years at Westwood. His favorite part of the game is competing with his teammates, and his proudest moment so far was a game-winning steal against Dobson last year. This season, his goal is clear—beat Mountain View. Off the court, Bassett spends his time hunting, fishing, or playing football and baseball. He loves Star Wars, listens to Drake to get game-ready, and a fun fact—he’s an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt and fish.	2	Bassett Ward (G)	Jr
Cole Frailey Cole is a senior who plays pg/guard wearing jersey #3 and has been playing basketball for 12 years. One of his proudest moments was hitting a half court shot during a game that tied the school record. Cole is inspired by Frank Mason, a former Jayhawk PG who played harder then anyone on the court and had an unreal basketball IQ. Cole is aiming to get our team Westwood basketball team to the playoffs this year. When not on the court, he is usually sleeping or hangout with friends. Ace Lee Ace is a senior who plays pg, sg wearing jersey #5. Ace has been playing basketball for 6 year and of his proudest moments was getting his first dunk. Ace finds inspiration from Kylie Irving because he is a person that believes in him self, has confidence, and doesn’t let others effect his beliefs or decisions. Ace is aiming to to get at least 1 in game dunk this season. Away from hoops, Ace is also into Track and Field and is a major contributor on the Westwood Track and Field team. Braeden Scott Braeden Scott is a senior shooting guard and point guard wearing #13. He’s been playing basketball since he was six or seven and loves how competitive and fun the game is, especially when the team chemistry is strong. One of his proudest achievements is playing varsity since his sophomore year. This season, he’s focused on helping the team earn a winning record and doing his job offensively. Off the court, Braeden spends his time sleeping, working, or hanging out with friends. He grew up watching the Suns and looks up to players like Mikal Bridges and Devin Booker. His favorite shows include Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the Spider-Man movies, and his hype music is Drake—or whatever’s on his playlist. Latravion Latravion is a senior who plays PF/C wearing jersey #14. He’s been playing basketball for a while, but new to high school ball. One of his proudest moments was getting 15 rebounds in a game during the summer leage. Inspired by Dennis Rodman and his hustle, Latravion is aiming to win. Matteo Salcedo Matteo Salcedo is a sophomore who plays PG wearing jersey #29, and has been playing basketball for 11 years. One of his proudest moments of basketball was winning the MVP of a tournament at the age of 13. Matteo is inspired by Greivis Vasquez because he is an inspiration to the entire basketball community. Matteo is working to get on varsity and have good minutes. When he is not on the basketball court, he spends time working out in the gym or playing videogames. Kenny Johnson Kenny Johnson is a senior who plays C/PF, wearing jersey #21. He has been playing basketball for 3 years. One of his proudest moments was scoring a career high 20 points in a game. Inspired by Cooper Flagg because “he’s just my idol”, Kenny’s goal this year is to average 10 points per game. When he ‘s not on the court, he is usually chilling, taking naps, going to the gym, and hanging with friends. Away from hoops, he is also into football and track. Vinny Delgudico Vinny is a junior who plays PG/SG, wearing jersey #23. He has been playing basketball since he was 4. He is proud of the work he puts in to improve his game and become a better player. Inspired by Curry, he grew up watching him. Vinny is working hard to make the varsity team. Austin Vick Austin Vick is a senior who plays small forward, shooting guard wearing jersey #32. He’s been playing basketball since kindergarten. One of his proudest moments was scoring in the first game back from an injury against Dobson. Austin finds inpiration from Mikal Bridges because he is such a great defender and he can score and I loved him on the Suns during their 2021 finals run. Austin is aiming to to play hard and win games. “I love all sports, but I’ve been doing pole vault for Westwood a couple years now.” Fun fact: I support UofA over ASU. Chance Bingham Chance Bingham is a sophomore point guard and shooting guard on the JV team, wearing #8. He’s been playing basketball for four years and loves the environment and teammates that come with the game. One of his proudest moments has been earning the chance to play Westwood basketball, and this season he’s focused on one big goal—beat Mountain View. Outside of basketball, Chance spends his time working out, watching sports, and heading to the gym or baseball fields. On weekends he’s usually hanging out with his cousin. Isaiah Jimenez Isaiah Jimenez is a junior point guard on the JV team. He’s been playing basketball for two years and loves the game for the shooting and competition. His proudest moment so far is winning a championship game, and this season his main goal is to earn a spot as a starter. When he’s not on the court, Isaiah is usually at the gym or at the park getting extra basketball work in. His favorite player is Devin Booker because of his dedication to the game, he doesn’t watch much TV. Fun fact—he used to play football.	3	Isaiah Jimenez	Jr
Jackson Anderson Jackson Andersen is a junior guard playing on both JV and varsity. He’s been hooping for as long as he can remember and loves the satisfaction of seeing a shot drop. One of his favorite moments was hitting three threes in under a minute last season to take the lead—a hype moment he won’t forget. This year, he’s focused on shooting 75% or better from the free-throw line and proving the player he knows he can be. Off the court, Jackson plays baseball and football, eats, sleeps, and hangs out with friends—or “some cute girls”—while watching whatever game is on TV. His favorite player is Jimmer Fredette, and he proudly admits that being a BYU fan might make him a little biased. His go-to pregame music is classical or country to keep him calm and focused. Johnny Wills Johnny is a sophomore center/power forward on the JV team and has been playing basketball since he was five. He loves the game and his proudest moment so far has been making the team. This season, he’s focused on improving his finishing and his academics. When he’s not on the court, Johnny is usually hanging out with friends, working, or playing volleyball. He’s a big fan of Mission Impossible, admires Vince Carter for his dunks, and fun fact—he doesn’t have a favorite hype song because he’ll play whatever sounds good in the moment.	3	Johnny Wills	So
Jovany Salazar Jovany is a sophomore on the JV team and can play just about any position he’s needed in. He’s been playing basketball for five years and loves the game because he’s good at it. His proudest moment so far is earning the chance to play with the team, and this season his goal is simple—make a lot of baskets. Off the court, Jovany likes to rest, work, and play baseball. He enjoys watching how players like LeBron James or Kyrie Irving move on the court, and his hype music comes from J. Cole or Kanye West. Noah Barnes-Smith Noah is a sophomore forward on the JV team. He’s been playing basketball for three years and loves being part of a team. One of his proudest moments was making the team—he was nervous at tryouts, and earning his spot boosted his confidence. This season, he’s focused on getting more comfortable and confident handling the ball. Outside of basketball, Noah enjoys baking, reading, lifting, and hitting the gym. On weekends he’s usually out walking around with friends. His favorite players are Jeremy Lin and Kobe Bryant, his go-to hype song is “January 28th” by J. Cole. Tabari Noel Thompson Tabari Thompson is a junior shooting guard on the JV team. He’s been playing basketball for three years and loves when coaches believe in their players and give them chances to make plays. His proudest moment so far is scoring 43 points in a game, and his goal this season is to knock down at least twenty 3-pointers. Off the court, Tabari watches YouTube—especially sports and golf videos—and enjoys hanging out at home after a good steak-and-potatoes dinner. His favorite player is Jrue Holiday for his skill and toughness, his hype song is the Halloween theme. Tori Watkins Tori is a junior who plays SG wearing jersey #10. He has been playing basketball since 7th grade. One of his proudest moments was beating Dobson after they had beaten us in OT in a previous game. He is inspired by Kevin Durant because his game is so pure and he plays at his own pace. Tori‘s goal is to make a name and statement, and have fun while playing as a team. When he is not on the court, he is usually playing NBA 2K. Away from hoops, he is also into photography. Tymere Eliton Tymere Eliton is a junior point guard on the JV team. He’s been playing basketball for 6–7 years and loves the connections he builds with his teammates. One of his proudest moments was touching the rim for the first time, and this season he’s focused on playing more aggressively and stepping up as a leader. When he’s not hooping, Tymere spends time with his family, cooks, and hangs out with friends. His favorite player is Bones Hyland because they share a similar shifty, skinny style. Vinny Tellez Vinny is a sophomore point guard on the JV team. He’s been playing basketball for six years and loves the games, the competition, and spending time with friends on the court. One of his proudest moments was dropping 28 points in a tournament. This season, he’s focused on grabbing rim and improving his basketball IQ. Outside of basketball, Vinny plays video games and volleyball. His favorite player is Allen Iverson—he loves Iverson’s scoring and tries to model parts of his game after him. His favorite show right now is Invincible, and his pregame routine is all about calm vibes with slow songs or rain sounds. Benjamin Coolidge Benjamin Coolidge is a freshman shooting guard and small forward. He’s been playing basketball for three years and loves the competitive side of the game—shooting, dribbling, passing, and locking in on defense. One of his proudest moments was teaching another player something new. This season, his goal is simple: keep improving and be a solid, dependable player. Outside of basketball, Benjamin trains in martial arts and spends his weekends practicing either basketball or martial arts. His favorite player is Luka Dončić for his shooting, IQ, and playmaking. Brody Biggs Brody Biggs is a freshman shooting guard who’s been playing basketball his whole life. He loves taking shots, and one of his favorite memories is hitting a three from the logo as the clock ran out in a game against Carson. This season, he’s focused on improving as a player and helping his team win a lot of games. When he’s not on the court, Brody is usually playing baseball or golf, hanging out with friends, or finding something fun to do. His favorite player is Devin Booker—he’s watched him play for the Suns for years and loves his pull-up jumper. He loves the game for the shooting, and one of his proudest moments so far was knocking down a deep three. This season, Chase is focused on improving his game and working toward his goal of dunking. When he’s not on the court, he’s playing video games, drawing, or getting in extra practice on the weekends. This season, his goal is to keep improving and earn a move up to JV. When he’s not playing basketball, Colten is on the baseball field—he plays both JV and varsity baseball. On weekends, he likes hanging out and grabbing food with friends. This year, Damien’s goal is simple: contribute, improve, and be a real part of the team. Off the court, he’s usually outside running or playing baseball and football. Jesus Jr Morales Jesus Morales is a freshman small forward/power forward. He’s been playing basketball for 3–4 years and loves creating great moments with his teammates. His proudest memory so far is his high-scoring game, and this season he’s aiming to put points on the board every time he steps on the court. Off the court, Jesus spends most of his time with family. Weekends usually mean going out on Saturdays and watching football or visiting his grandparents on Sundays. His favorite player is Stephen Curry, inspired by watching him rise to MVP status when he first got into basketball. His favorite movie is It: Welcome to Derry. Ricky Salinas Ricky Salinas is a freshman wearing #3 who has been playing basketball for three years. He loves everything about the game, especially getting to play with a team he can rely on. One of his proudest moments was winning a championship in a practice scrimmage, and this season he’s focused on becoming the kind of player his team can count on to make a play when it matters. Off the court, Ricky spends his time practicing guitar and staying involved—he even joined the Salvation Army before the season to prepare for Westwood basketball.
